Des Français en goguette

Frenchies out enjoying themselves

The Dageraadplaats is the little square of our “village” in Antwerp. It’s where we go to drink beers, eat french fries or a good “american” steak (raw beef or tartare, for those who do not understand the belgian subtilities). Dutch is spoken all around us and laughs are in dutch too. The ambience is friendly and welcoming. Then it seems really awkward when Frenchies appear with their pointy accent (Belgians will understand) and their “I do like I’m at home” manners…
Fortunatelly, us, in the middle of all of that, we hide ourselves speaking english!
